#beautybitch :Get the Glam
For most of January I pretty much hibernate and typically don’t go out at all beyond work and fresh air walks. And so I normally go make up free or keep it minimal and natural looking as much as I can to give my skin a rest while the winter elements take their toll, but now that ‘Dry January’ is over (for those who partook in it), the invitations to nights out are starting to roll in again, so it’s time to trade a minimal demeanour for something a little more glamorous. This week, myself and the team at the office have been reviewing these ‘glam girl’ products – and here are my thoughts:
1. Radiance Chubby All Over Illuminator by Diego Dalla Palma £16.99
This highlighter is a beautiful shade of shimmering champagne. Not only does it blend well without leaving a cakey look, it’s long-lasting too, so a little goes a long way. Just lightly swipe this illuminator on to cheekbones for a natural day-to-day highlight or build it up and apply it to the inner corner of the eyes and over the brow bone to create a more dramatic look for when you’re out with the girls!
2. Illamasqua Lipstick – Maneater £19.50
I absolutely LOVE this lipstick!! While this Illamasqua range gives you a gorgeous classic matte finish, the formula isn’t as drying as other matt lipsticks so it keeps lips luscious and primed to perfection all night long! My colour of choice is “Maneater” – a vibrant, high impact red that is perfect for a sexy midnight look.
3. Limited Edition Ombre Waterproof Eye shadow by Clarins Paris – 04 Copper Brown £18.00
Next up, the eyes – this gorgeous Ombre eye shadow by Clarins smooths out any unwanted lines and makes eyelids look flawless. Plus, it’s waterproof!! It is the perfect base for long lasting eye make-up. While there are four shades to choose from, my absolute FAVE is no. 4 “Copper Brown.” It illuminates my eyes with a copper sheen but isn’t too dramatic and doesn’t clash when paired with the über red Illamasqua lip.
4. Glow Together by Pur £24.00
PÜR Glow Together Gradient Matte-Shimmer Bronzer 17g
Behold this absolutely beautiful bronzer!! I find this jumbo-sized palette is perfect for any occasion with three matt matte shades for a toned down look, PLUS three shimmer shades if you’re seeking a more intense glow… OR, you can blend the whole thing together for a naturally radiant hue. When dolling up for a night out, I use a bronzer brush (Benefit’s Hoola bronzing and contouring brush to precise…but more on that later!) to blend the shades I desire and apply to the forehead, bridge of nose, cheeks, and chin, and if I am feeling extra glam, dust onto my neck, chest, and body with a body brush for a bronzed goddess look!
5. Hoola brush by Benefit £17.50
Having the right tools is the first step to a flawless face and with this bronzing and contouring brush by Benefit, a gorgeously glowing complexion has never been easier to achieve! I love how the ultra-plush bristles pick up just the right amount of product and blend it in effortlessly, while the dome-shaped tip easily sculpts and contours for ideal definition around my cheekbones, nose, and jawline. And lastly, the gold bamboo handle for ultimate Hoola glam = perfection!
