Barber Blog: The one about the photoshoot.
For some unknown reason to me I’ve been invited back to ramble on about all things Barber. Anyone that knows me however knows I like a good yarn, so here I am to delight your eyes with my honest and blunt opinion on the Barbering industry! Hurrah!
A few short weeks ago I took part in my first ever Barbering Photoshoot. Along with Leza my partner in crime from the Jason Shankey Barbershop in Holywood we arrived, rocked it and left like the rockstars we would like to believe we are.
Our view on the photoshoot was to showcase what we do on a daily basis. Solid, classic and contemporary Barbering on everyday people that actually visit us. No professional models. Just our loyal custom.
My “thing” if you will is the classic Barbering. Strong, Clean, masculine, consistent haircutting. Nothing overly stylized or groomed so that the client can replicate it at home.
Leza however is different. She has a more creative eye and likes modern, edgy dramatic styles. Undercuts, quiffs and movement is where she excells. She also can nail the classic to a high standard too.
So as you can see our “models” were our clients. Real haircuts for real people.
Another great thing to come from the photoshoot was the new Jason Shankey Formation cream. Jason kept this very quiet with none of us knowing it was coming until that day. A water soluble, medium hold, medium shine cream that is perfect for sleek slick styles. Its very very good, and im not just saying that, i would honestly tell you if i thought it was rubbish.
There we have it. Our Jason shankey photoshoot. If you want to see any of the other images from the day just visit the Jason Shankey Salons Facebook page. Ill give a shout out to Adam from the Ballyhackamore branch now. Some of his fashion shots from that day were of an exceptional standard. Really. Go check it out!
Ill maybe speak to you again soon.
