So we already know about the drummers, we’ve seen the video clip, but the latest news is the 200 person choral section. This summer’s epic event, Land of Giants, will feature a massive choral section of almost 200 singers. On Sunday, 10th June, seventy of them met at Rhubarb Studios in Belfast for the first time to record some of the specially written music which we’ll hear on 30 June at the Titanic Slipways in Belfast.
The last (and only) time we saw a big chorus performance was at the London Gay Men’s Chorus in the Grand Opera House last month, and there were 100 of them. So I’m imagining 200 will be even more impressive sounding. One of the choirs performing that night was Quire from Belfast. Quire will also be part of this Giant performance alongside the Star Singers from Holywood; Bitsa from Carrickfergus and Newtownards; Voca Loca and Feilie Women’s Choir and more.
It really is shaping up to be one Giant night out!
