A Deliciously Arty @hastingshotels Weekend at @slievedonard

Arts enthusiasts throughout Ireland are in for a New Year treat as Hastings Hotels have announced that acclaimed Irish sculptor Paddy Campbell will take residence in the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa for their Art weekend from January 3 – January 5, and to celebrate this remarkable artist, a special Art Afternoon Tea themed menu has been created to complement his work.

Paddy Campbell, who is renowned throughout the world for his figurative bronze works will be in residence at the Slieve Donard all weekend, and on Saturday January 4 he will be on hand to speak to guests about his artistry journey so far, deliver a talk on his work and carry out a demonstration at the hotel.

The Slieve Donard Resort and Spa recently became home to one of Paddy’s beautiful creations entitled ‘Wind and Sea’, a stunning bronze sculpture featuring two back to back dancing figures almost five metres high which is installed in a prime position in front of the hotel overlooking the sea and Mourne Mountains. This will not be the only showcase of Paddy’s work as in conjunction with Gormley’s Fine Art, one of Ireland’s leading galleries, the Slieve Donard is home to over 40 pieces of Mr Campbell’s artwork throughout the Resort during December, January and February.

Howard Hastings, Managing Director of Hastings Hotels said: “We have had the privilege of working with Paddy Campbell for a number of years now and we are honoured to be able to display some of his exquisite artwork throughout some of our hotels. We are thrilled that he will be in residence in the hotel for the weekend and hosting his talk and demonstration, and we are sure our guests will be delighted to have the opportunity to speak with Paddy and ask him questions about his work as well as sampling our delicious art themed Afternoon Tea.”

To celebrate this incredible event, the Slieve Donard are offering a special overnight package which includes a delicious Art Afternoon Tea on arrival and overnight accommodation including a full Irish breakfast, from only £70 per person sharing (available January 3 – 5 only).
